For any question about this policy or your data, write to support@nextcentury.tech. That address reaches the person we have designated to handle personal data requests.

When you visit nextcentury.tech

The site has no forms, no user accounts and no cookies, and it does not use local storage or similar technologies to recognize you.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes the technical data that every web request carries, such as your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request and your browser’s user agent, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse.

We measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. A small script loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com and reports page views, visits, page load times and loading performance, broken down by country, page, referring site, device type, browser and operating system. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics uses no client-side state such as cookies or local storage, and that it does not fingerprint visitors through their IP address or user agent. We see these figures only as totals, never as a record of an individual visitor. To stop the measurement, block scripts from static.cloudflareinsights.com in your browser or with a content blocker.

When you email us

When you write to support@nextcentury.tech, we receive your email address, your name if your email shows it, the content of your message and any attachments, and whatever else you choose to include. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards these messages to a Gmail mailbox, provided by Google, where we read them.

When you message us on WhatsApp

If you write to us on WhatsApp, or if we write to you after you have agreed to receive messages from us, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name, the content of the messages and any files you send, and message status information such as whether a message was delivered and read. We use WhatsApp to reply to customer inquiries and to support our products.

WhatsApp, a Meta service, carries these messages. WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy also apply to your use of WhatsApp.

Our RE:SOURCE application

RE:SOURCE, our desktop application for macOS and Windows, has its own privacy policy and terms at resource.works. They govern the data the application handles, including requests for access to its beta. This policy doesn’t cover the application.

Sensitive and financial data

We do not ask for sensitive personal data, such as data about health, beliefs or ethnic origin, or for financial data. Please don’t send it to us. If you do, we use it only to answer you, and we delete it when it is no longer needed for that.

We use personal data to:

• reply to your messages and follow up on your requests;
• deliver the website, keep it secure and understand, in aggregate, how it is used;
• handle requests to exercise your rights; and
• meet our legal obligations.

These purposes are necessary for our relationship with you, so they don’t require separate consent. We have no other purposes: we don’t use your data for marketing, advertising or commercial prospecting, and we don’t sell it. If we ever add such a purpose, we will list it in this policy with a simple way for you to refuse it.

We rely on service providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions:

• Cloudflare, for hosting the website, protecting it, measuring visits and forwarding email (Cloudflare Email Routing);
• Google, whose Gmail service holds the mailbox where we read your emails; and
• Meta, which operates WhatsApp, for carrying WhatsApp messages.

They are bound by contract or by their service terms to protect the data and to use it only to provide their service to us. We require them to protect your data to a standard at least equal to the measures described in this policy. Some of them process data outside Mexico, including in the United States.

We don’t transfer your personal data to other third parties for their own use. We would share it only where the law allows this without your consent, for example when a law or a competent authority requires it, or when it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. When a purpose ends, we block the data, which means we keep it only to meet legal responsibilities arising from that processing, for the period the applicable law sets, and then we delete it.

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal data against damage, loss, alteration, destruction and unauthorized use, access or processing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

You can ask us to:

• give you access to the personal data we hold about you and tell you how we process it;
• correct it if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
• cancel it, which leads to its deletion as explained in our Data Deletion Instructions; or
• stop processing it, where you have a legitimate reason, including processing by automated means that significantly affects you.

These are known in Mexico as ARCO rights. You can also withdraw your consent and ask us to limit how we use or disclose your data.

How to make a request

Write to support@nextcentury.tech and include:

1. your name and the email address or other means where you want our answer;
2. a copy of your official ID and, if someone else asks on your behalf, a copy of their ID and of the document showing they can act for you;
3. a clear description of the data the request is about (not needed when you ask for access);
4. what you are asking for; and
5. anything that helps us find the data, such as the email address or WhatsApp number you used with us.

If you ask for a correction, tell us what should change and include supporting documents if there are any.

What happens next

We tell you our decision within 20 business days of receiving your request. If the request is granted, we carry it out within 15 business days of telling you. When the circumstances justify it, each period can be extended once by the same length of time, and we will let you know. We send our answer and any copies by email, as electronic documents. If we can’t grant a request, we explain why, through the same channel you used.

Making a request is free. We may only charge the cost of copies or delivery, if you ask for them in a form that has a cost.

Withdrawing consent and limiting use

To withdraw consent or limit how we use or disclose your data, write to support@nextcentury.tech. For WhatsApp messages, you can also tell us in the chat that you don’t want to receive messages from us any more. We record your request, apply it from then on, and confirm to you that we have stopped. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect processing that happened before. Where you gave consent through a particular channel, such as WhatsApp, you can withdraw it through that same channel.

Every person who uses our website, writes to us or uses our applications can ask us to delete their data. Our Data Deletion Instructions explain how, what we need from you, and what we can’t delete and why.

Our services are meant for adults. They are not directed at anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Our website links to sites we don’t run, such as resource.works. Their own privacy policies apply there.

When we change this policy, we publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant and we have a way to reach you, such as your email address or WhatsApp number, we also tell you there. If the company responsible for your data changes, we will give you a new notice.

If you believe we have not respected your rights, you can file a complaint with Mexico’s Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno, the authority responsible for personal data protection, within 15 business days after you receive our answer, or after the period for our answer has passed without one.
