Data Deletion Instructions
Anyone can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about them. This covers data from the emails you have sent us, your WhatsApp conversations with us, and our applications, including any data we have received through Meta’s WhatsApp platform. Under Mexican law, this is a request to cancel your data.
How to ask
Send an email to support@nextcentury.tech with the subject “Data deletion request” and include:
- your name and the email address where you want our answer;
- the email address or WhatsApp number you used with us, so we can find your data;
- which data you want deleted, or “all my data”;
- a copy of your official ID and, if someone else asks on your behalf, a copy of their ID and of the document showing they can act for you.
The law requires us to confirm your identity before we delete anything, and we use the ID only for that.
If you are talking to us on WhatsApp, you can also start your request in the chat, and we will tell you there how to complete it.
What happens next
- We confirm that we received your request.
- Within 20 business days, we tell you whether we can delete the data and, if we can’t delete some of it, why not.
- Within 15 business days after that answer, we delete the data, and we write to you when it is done.
When the circumstances justify it, each period can be extended once by the same length of time, and we will let you know. The request is free.
What we can’t delete, and why
Some data can’t be deleted at once, or can’t be deleted by us:
- Data the law requires us to keep, or that we need to carry out a contract with you. We block it, which means we keep it only for those obligations and use it for nothing else, and we delete it when the period set by law ends.
- Copies outside our systems. Emails and WhatsApp messages we have already sent you stay in your own mailbox and on your own phone, and WhatsApp keeps data under its own policies. You can delete your chats in the WhatsApp app.
- Technical logs held by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, under its own retention periods. Our website statistics are totals and contain no data that identifies you.
- Learned memory in our applications. Where an application keeps learned memory, some traces may not be removable one by one. In that case we tell you exactly what was deleted and what wasn’t.
Questions and complaints
Write to support@nextcentury.tech. Our Privacy Policy explains all your rights over your data. If you believe we haven’t handled your request properly, you can file a complaint with Mexico’s Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno, as explained there.
